Dr. Mary Love
Dr. Mary Love is Adjunct Professor of Christian Education at Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, NC. Love enjoys exploring subjects creatively with a focus on enabling learning and bringing innovative experiences into ministry settings. Teaching, writing and creating are passions for her. Hood Seminary honored her as one of two recipients of the first Teaching Excellence and Service Award (2015). She was selected as one of 160+ Christian Educators included in the “Christian Educators of the 20th Century” project hosted by Talbot School of Theology and funded by the Lilly Foundation.
As a member of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Love served as Editor of Church School Literature from 1980 -2016 developing Sunday School curriculum for all ages. She has served in the world of ecumenism with the Pan-Methodist Commission (currently serving as Administrative Secretary), National Council of Churches, and the Committee on the Uniform Series, to name a few.
She is a member of Greenville Memorial A. M. E. Zion Church in Charlotte NC where she serves as Director of Christian Education. The challenge to create often arises within this congregation as requests are made to develop litanies and teaching/learning challenges for the congregation. These experiences have contributed to some of her publications.
